The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is interested in assisting new Ph.D. students, graduating seniors and new MS students with potential support of an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GFRP). As you may realize, the National Science Foundation GRFP is one of the most prestigious accolades for engineering Ph.D. students and some MS students. Award winning NSF Fellows can use the funds to attend UF or another institution for their Ph.D. degree or a research-based Master’s degree.

-U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents
-1st year Ph.D. students who have not completed a graduate degree (those with a Master’s degree were not eligible to apply in 2025)
-1st year Master’s students who have not completed a graduate degree in a research-based program
-UF graduating seniors enrolling Ph.D. or MS in Fall or Spring 2027
-Combined degree program (4+1 BS/MS) participants with at least 3 undergraduate years completed
